The inauguration of the new La Pasta industrial unit took place on January 10, 2023 in the presence of several authorities. On January 10, 2024, the Zone Industrialo-Portuaire de Kribi (ZIPK) commissioned this flour mill belonging to the Cadyst Group. This new agro-industrial jewel, the second of its kind in the port area, is part of a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the industrial sector. La Pasta joins prestigious establishments such as Atlantic Cocoa Corporation and Tractafric Équipement.
This plant, creating over 500 jobs, confirms Mr. Célestin Tawamba’s patriotic commitment to supporting the government at this crucial time. The inauguration ceremony was attended by numerous personalities, including members of the government, administrative, traditional and religious authorities, and local elites. When the jobs were announced, the town’s mayor spoke with emotion. He stressed that in a city where youth unemployment is worrying, Mr. Tawamba’s initiative is helping to raise the profile of Kribi and the Ocean department.
This new industrial unit has an impressive production capacity, producing up to 12,000 50 kg bags of wheat flour per day. In addition to durum wheat semolina-based pasta, it will manufacture dry and filled cookies, as well as pharmaceutical solutions. The Cadyst Group has established itself as a key partner for public authorities in its field.
The inauguration of the La Pasta factory in Kribi marks a crucial step in the economic development of the Ocean department. It creates new job opportunities and strengthens the involvement of the private sector in promoting government initiatives. This agri-food plant will stimulate the local economy and contribute to Cameroon’s overall economic growth.
